Chapter 7

I Am

Before I keep going, have a look at this. “I am” statements.

If you have been reading a few or a lot of different books you may have come across this briefly. Have a go at this one

“I am happy” repeat it 10 times, it sounds goofy when you are not happy, but usually you will have a smile on your face by the time you have finished.

“I am” is a good way of making up positive affirmations for yourself. Not I would like, or I will, as they are not positive, they are wishy washy, like I might do it or get to it.

I am happy NOW I would like to be happy WHEN?
I am losing weight NOW I will lose weight WHEN?
I am healthy NOW I would like to be healthy WHEN?

When puts an infinite time frame in, you have an excuse readily built in.

Whatever you want brought into your life for the greatest good of all make an "I AM" statement Short or long that you can recite to yourself. Silly ones to make you smile or giggle will be the best that stay with you and make you feel happy.

When you get started you will have fun figuring out how to incorporate the I Am into a positive affirmation. When you say then long enough your subconsciousness will adopt them as belief.

Whether what you say is positive or negative.

Pendulums.

A lot of people use pendulums as a tool. They give a response which is usually correct if you ask the right questions. To start with, you need a pendulum. These you can buy ready-made or you can make one. To make one you need some cotton or string and a bead or glue a cap to the Crystal or wood or some people use a needle or a ring. Thread whatever you have and have about eight inches or 17 centimetres length, hold it around your finger dangling down. The object you thread must be heavy enough to hold the string straight. Next work out the way you wanted it to answer so you get a clear yes or no. Once you programme your pendulum this is the way it will answer your questions. For example vertical swing for no, clockwise circle for yes, horizontal swing for doesn’t know, can't answer. You can also have counter clockwise for no. To begin, have your feet flat on the floor. Hold your pendulum about one centimetre from the table and say with your mind for a yes answer swing clockwise. Repeat this until it starts to swing. Keep the hand that is holding the pendulum perfectly still, when it moves in the direction you want it to, exaggerate the move with your hand, you will definitely be able to tell the difference of it moving and you moving it. Go through the commands that you want to use.

When you have finished that, ask some questions. Ones you know the answers to, like are my eyes are blue. If they are brown you will get a no answer. The more you work with your pendulum the easier and quicker it will respond. You can use your pendulum for all kinds of questions and for chakra balancing. Questions like, what crystals do I need. Use a list and ask is there any on this page. If no, move on, if yes, go over each crystal. Jobs in the newspaper, flats for rent, houses for sale. Water on a block of land. A question you would like answered E.G. will I pass my exams, buy a car, all types of questions. You are only limited by the questions you ask. As I said this is one of the tools many spiritual people use. This is a good tool to start with as it helps get answers without a lot of study and special training. In an afternoon you can have your pendulum up and running. Pendulums are also used when dowsing for earth energies, ley lines, fault lines and such.

A quick note that should be mentioned, the pendulum can tell untruths - sometimes because it can't answer and sometimes because the circumstance changes and the answer that it first gave has changed. Destiny changes with the choices that you make.

Colour.

Colour plays a large part in our lives.

It can make us feel happy, sad, angry or calm. There are different colour therapies which use colour in different ways to heal, or analyse how you feel or what type of person you are. What is bothering you. A simple way to see how colour works is by wearing one of the Chakra colours and seeing how you feel.

Red for Energy.

Orange for security.

Yellow for emotions.

Green for love and healing.

Light blue for communication.

Purple for spiritual.

White for purity.

Have you noticed how a lot of people wear black - black is a warm solid colour and when a lot of people wear the same colour they all feel a sense of belonging and fitting in. The youth of today are an example.

You will find you feel confident wearing a certain colour, calm with another. Colours can tell what sort of person you are, how you are feeling, colours you are attracted to like with the Aura Soma method, this reveals how you are feeling. The colours come in coloured bottles of oils, some have two colours in one bottle. You have a look at them all and choose the colour combination that appeals to you. This is also like mind colour which works along the same lines.

Aura Soma also have cards which you spread out and chose three cards, which will tell you about your spiritual path and where you are going, what you need to address to grow. Same thing also where you can choose one card per day or week for guidance.

Colour also affects us like the weather. During the winter we like Browns, oranges, and solid type colours so we feel warm and cosy. In summer we like wide open and cool blues, light Greens, whites, nice and cool.

Dreams.

Dreams are what we do to sort out the problems and feelings of the subconscious. The dream state is where we can be and do anything we want. However outlandish, crazy or horrific it maybe.

Dream journals are a great thing to keep, I had heard of them and people had spoken to me of them, I thought I didn't need one as I am a prolific dreamer and thought it would take too much time. As I progressed spiritually my dreams changed. I decided then I would give it a try. Each morning I would write down the dream I remembered. They followed a pattern and told me things I really hadn't realised before. I am dealing with these feelings now and my dreams have changed. Deja vu dreams I think most people have had, where they dream that they have been to a place, talked to a person, been in a situation, this is your sixth sense at work. Some people get prophetic dreams where they can see something happening in the future. Most prophetic dreams you hear about are disasters that may happen. But for yourself it may be where you are, what you will look like etc in the future.

Dreams are important to your mental health and well being - actually they keep you sane. There are a lot of good books to show you the types of things that your dreams reveal. There are also people who do dream analysis to help you sort out your dreams.

What your dream appears to be on the surface it usually is not, it is the underlying factors which tell the story. A lot of dreams have symbolic meaning. Things like animals, flying, water. It is worth having a look at your dreams and how they change.

You may find that your guides will speak to you in your dreams as well, it may be the first place you meet them and speak. This may also be so you can get used to them, what they look like and sound like. Their guidance may come through in your dreams you may even be able to see and speak to a deceased love one. Dreams are important for everyone’s sanity.

Music Register.

Sometimes our messages come in the form of a song. Waking up with a song playing in your head, appropriate to how you feel or saying something to you.

Songs or lyrics in particular can give you messages. I know now that the music going through my head during the night for most of my life was stopping the messages coming through. It was a way of stopping the guides.

Turning on the radio and a song plays appropriate to how you feel. Not all the time of course, but sometimes. Try seeing if a song is playing in your mind at night or comes to mind in the morning. Write it down or the particular line which is pertinent to you. You will be very surprised.

Rituals and ceremonies.

These I feel are necessary as the basic grounding of learning. Once you are familiar with how things work and your intent on what you are doing and why, you can start to shorten up the complete ritual to allow you the time to fit more healing or whatever you are doing, in. We live in a world where time flies by and we never seem to have enough. Being able to shorten these things down allows us to get on. Don't get me wrong some spiritual rituals and ceremonies do need to be done in their entirety. Being able to say a phrase or two and go into healing mode makes it a great deal easier, less time consuming and allows for more healing to be done in the time frame you have.

If you have a request for a healing and have 10 - 15 minutes you can accomplish a lot in that time. These days to find an hour or so to sit in peace and heal or meditate is very hard to do with the hustle and bustle of life. To be able to accomplish it in 10 - 15 minutes makes it a practice which you will stick to rather than leave because if it takes too long, the excuse of not enough time gets you off the hook.

Writing down thoughts

Some people keep journals or diaries, have you thought about writing down your dreams, your feelings, emotions, worries, sadness or anger, spiritual experiences and adventures.

Writing things down is another way of clearing them from the mind. Getting things on paper gives a different perspective, going back and reading these things a month later shows how you progress. Venting your anger in a letter and burning it, shredding it into a million pieces.

Writing can slow down the mind, get thoughts and feelings into perspective. Like making a to do list. Organises and straightens out thinking. List down you 10 biggest worries at the beginning of the week, look at them at the end of the week, were they worth worrying over. A friend of mine says what is the worst that could happen? Death? You are still here at the end of the week.

If you do not have friends or family that you can talk to writing it down is like speaking it to someone, except that someone is you, you can tell yourself your darkest fears, no-one to tell your secrets to, what about yourself. If you find the time to write at night you will find that your emotions will really come out, and the words will flow. Even if you destroy these writings of yours or keep them for ever, they will have helped you.

Where to look for Information

On the internet now there is so much information, most of it free, you will never run out of things to read.

When you start to work with your guides you will find that you are directed to the information you should be looking at. You will have a gut reaction as to what is right for you, and which path to follow. If there is a subject you are supposed to look at you will find that it presents itself in a number of different ways.

Be proactive and things will happen for you.

Go to the main search engine that you use and put in the words relevant to the subject you are looking for, you will find a vast array of things to help, then you have the links which come off the sites you look at.

Books are available on the net to download and read as well as articles.

The library, second-hand stores and charity shops are also great sources of information. With spiritual books, not religious, you will find that the principles are still the same.

A some psychic fairs they have talks which are free that you can go along to.

When looking for new books and cards www.amazon.com is very well known to find nearly anything you need. Some authors to look at Deepak Chopra, Ruth Montgomery, Betty Shine, Dawn Hill and David Redfield.
